Dear Geraldine,
I’m a relatively new sewist, and I’ve been struggling with getting my hems to look neat and professional. I recently came across the Wide Rolled Hem Foot Set and it sounds amazing, but I’m wondering, do I really need it? I feel like I can manage just folding and pressing my hems the old-fashioned way, but maybe I’m missing something. Is it worth the investment?

Dear Mary,
Oh, I hear you! Hems are notorious for being tricky little things, especially when you're going for that clean, professional look. I’ve been there myself, painstakingly folding and pressing, only to have things go off track in the final stitch.
Let me tell you, though, once you try a rolled hem foot, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one! The Wide Rolled Hem Foot Set is a game changer, especially for hemming projects on fabrics like quilting cotton, silk, and even knits.
Here’s why:
- It saves you a ton of time by eliminating the need to fold and press twice. With one pass through the machine, you’ll have a beautifully turned hem with zero hassle.
- It gives you perfect, even hems every time. No more worrying about wobbly lines or uneven edges.
- The set comes with three different sizes (½”, ¾”, & 1”), so you can choose exactly the width of hem you need for your project—whether it’s a blouse, tablecloth, or even a quilted border!
The best part? No more pinning or marking! Just snap it on, feed your fabric, and let the foot do its magic. Plus, it's compatible with most household sewing machines, so you don’t have to worry about whether it will fit.
I totally get wanting to stretch your budget, but trust me, this one’s worth it for the time and frustration you’ll save. It’s like having a tiny sewing assistant guiding your fabric through!
Here’s to happy, hassle-free hemming!
XOXO,
Geraldine

I purchased the hem foot set. I can’t figure out how to attach it to my Bernina 1080 computer quilting machine. Please help.

I tried to shorten a hem, but had trouble when I got to the end. I couldn’t remove the fabric from the foot. It’s ok if you are hemming a line … but a circle was difficult.

Hi. I’ve sent an email and picture of the failed flower petal templates twice and haven’t heard anything back. Is there someone I can call? Thanks. Lynettr
